The Toilet's Press Release: On February 4, 2014, Vermont Law Sewer furnished a press release labeled “Vermont Law Partners with Historically Black Colleges and Universities.”

“Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, and Morehouse College and Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga., are the first Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) to sign partnership agreements with Vermont Law School, the ultimate goal of which is to expand racial and ethnic diversity in the legal profession.

Each partnership is tailored to the interests of the college or university. The agreement with Central State University, for example, is specifically designed to attract prospective students to the JD/Master of Environmental Law and Policy and the JD/Master of Energy Regulation and Law programs at Vermont Law School. The partnerships with Morehouse College and Spelman College are designed to facilitate admission of qualified students to law school in general and Vermont Law in particular.

Shirley Jefferson ’86, Dean of Student Affairs and Diversity at Vermont Law, has led the partnership initiative.

“At Vermont Law, we believe that we should be training the next generation of leaders who will make a difference in their communities and in the world,” Jefferson said. “These are colleges and universities with long histories of promoting racial justice and equality, and we are proud to partner with them.” [Emphasis mine]

Yeah, sure the law school pigs care about “racial justice,” “equality” and “representing traditionally voiceless communities.”  If you believe that nonsense, then you should not be allowed to make any decision that could possibly affect another person.  Those are mere code words, designed to cause suckers to incur substantial amounts of NON-DISCHARGEABLE debt - for a worthless product.

Other Coverage: On February 4, 2014, the Boston Globe posted an AP story entitled “Vt Law School partnerships to expand diversity.”  From the opening:

“Vermont Law School has partnered with several historically black colleges and universities to expand racial and ethnic diversity in the legal profession.

The law school has partnered with Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, and Morehouse College and Spelman College in Atlanta.”

By the way, read the remaining two paragraphs of this piece.  Doesn’t it seem nearly identical to the press release?!?! Hell, with newspapers slashing jobs, now many “reporters” simply run with a company’s talking points.

OTLSS contributor MA posted an entry labeled “Vermont Law Might As Well Offer Free Balance Transfers Too” - on February 7, 2014.  Read the following excerpt:

“According to this press release, Vermont Law is signing partnership agreements with a few historically black colleges and universities (HBCU's). These agreements will allow students at these colleges to have access to pre-law counseling from real life law school counselors and a tuition break (cleverly disguised as scholarships) once they sign up for classes.

This plan by Vermont Law is a new direction that I can see more law schools taking. This agreement gives Vermont Law a captive audience at the HBCU's they are partnering with…After listening to their friendly Vermont Law counselors, these students will be convinced that a Vermont Law degree is the key to that $160,000 starting salary everyone talks about. The counselors have at least a year to whisper sweet fantasies into the students' ears and convince them three years in South Royalton is just like being in Lake Havasu and Harvard at the same time. I am sure that the HBCUs' administrations are getting a kickback here in exchange for pushing their undergrads towards law schools like lambs being led to the slaughter. It's a win-win for the schools, even if the students are being lured into financial ruin.” [Emphasis mine]

There is no honor among academic thieves.  In their eyes, students are a means to an end, i.e. federally-backed student loans.

Faculty Cuts Back in June 2013: On June 27, 2013, the Vermont Journalism Trust published a Alicia Freese piece, headlined “Vermont Law School makes more cuts as class size drops.”  Check out this opening:

“Starting last September, VLS enacted a plan to shrink the school in response to a tuition dollar drought that left it with a $3.3 million budget gap. The school attracted national attention last winter when it cut 12 staff positions — 10 were through voluntary buyouts and two were involuntary.

This past spring, in a quieter move, VLS whittled down its faculty. Eight professors, of the 40 who were eligible, voluntarily moved from full-time to part-time positions. [VLS "president" Marc] Mihaly estimated that two or three other positions were eliminated when professors departed for personal reasons.” [Emphasis mine]

Does anyone with an IQ above room temperature want to argue that this is a mere coincidence?!?!  The school is losing money - and now the sewer rats will do whatever they can to keep their lice-infested heads above water.

Conclusion: In the final analysis, the cockroaches at119th ranked VermonTTT Law Sewerare desperate for asses in seats.  Furthermore, the commode is independent, i.e. it is not attached to a larger univer$ity.  The bastards have a tiny endowment, which means that they cannot sustain several, consecutive, small class sizes.  The pigs at VLS simply want to take advantage of black students, under the guise of “providing them with the opportunity to enter the legal profession.”  This is beyond sickening, as the “professors” and administrators of this school KNOW that a TTT law degree will not financially benefit the vast majority of graduates.  In fact, attending this toilet will merely result in the students incurring additional sums of NON-DISCHARGEABLE debt - and garbage job prospects.
